5 steps to become a pilot:
1. Book a Familiarization Demonstration Flight.
- ​This will be your opportunity to see what the experience of flying is like. A chance to go sight seeing, see what your house looks like from the air, your instructor will likely give you a chance to try your hands at the controls.
2. Ready to Start: Review the Transport Canada Aviation Medical Form with your flight school.
- Depending on the type of permit or license you want to achieve will establish different methods of completing the medical form.
​3. Start Ground School (depending on your schedule and the season of the year, you might start Flight Training at the same time)
- Ground school must meet Transport Canada requirements and can be done on line. You can purchase the ULTRA Ground School here. In addition to the Student Pilot Book Package.
4. Start Flight Training
- The most exciting part, arrange a training schedule with your flight school like AEROSPORT LTD. Be prepared for the occasional delay due to poor weather and necessary repairs and maintenance to the aircraft.
- You will need the Pilot Training Record as well as the Pilot log book which are included in the Student Pilot Book Package .
5. Successfully complete the Written exams and the Flight Test and you will be a Pilot.
- Exams will include the PSTAR (Regulations exam), Transport Canada Written Exam, and the a Flight Test, when you achieve a recommendation from your Flight Instructor. The Industry Canada Radio License exam for the Restricted Operator Certificate - Aviation (ROC-A) license.
